Changing your voice
Which part of the change feels difficult?
Find your way through the physical sensations, the emotional side and using your voice in everyday life.
Finding the sound was a beginning.Practical guideWritten by LeemusUpdated 10 September 2026
Finding a different sound, feeling comfortable in it and using it through an ordinary day were separate parts of the change for me.
01 · Physical
What you hear and feel.
The unfamiliar vibration, the difference on playback, cracking, volume and getting tired from speaking.
02 · Emotional
What the change means to you.
Shame, fear, feeling exposed and wondering whether a different voice still belongs to you. These were some of the hardest parts for me.
03 · Everyday use
Taking it into ordinary life.
Using the voice with people you know, going back to the familiar sound and recognising progress beyond a good recording.
I wanted more of my attention back for living. Ordinary conversations were part of that.
